By way of confession, I’ve never shown a great interest in Holy Week. I need to repent of that.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ—which we celebrate on Easter—and the events leading up to
that seminal, world-shaping event (which had been prophesied from the beginning), is more
important than any other topic we could think about or commemorate. Ever.
Throughout the Christian world, Holy Week is a time for reflection, celebration and renewal of faith. Some engage in elaborate festivities, while for others their devotion is simpler and more private. In various parts of the world, Holy Week brings considerable additional dangers—including mortal risks—while many of us benefit from governments and societies that are, if not supportive, at least tolerant.
Fortifying our faith in Christ and his mission to save humankind is the most important activity in which we can engage, no matter the day (or the holiday). @real_housemd #Easter #HolyWeek #ACFW Share on XIn the United States, the White House released a powerful and poignant Holy Week message on
Palm Sunday, April 13, 2025. The President and First Lady likely didn’t write most of it, but they
approved it, for which I am grateful. It is bold. Here is the final full paragraph:
“As we focus on Christ’s redeeming sacrifice, we look to His love, humility, and
obedience—even in life’s most difficult and uncertain moments. This week, we pray for an
outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon our beloved Nation. We pray that America will remain a
beacon of faith, hope, and freedom for the entire world, and we pray to achieve a future that
reflects the truth, beauty, and goodness of Christ’s eternal kingdom in Heaven.”
Amen. We all have much to do in accomplishing the Father’s business and shining the light of
Christ across a world desperate for His elevating, joyous illumination.

That final, full paragraph of the White House message is powerful!
A wonderful message from the White House. Wasn’t it last year when a day highlighting transgenders fell on Easter. Sunday and the White House emphasized that over the religious holiday?
